• Introduction and key points on coaching games

>>> Avoid rotating players too much

• Key points on conducting skill activities – efficiency and effectiveness

Field Activities (coaches participate)
• Sharks and minnows (build in demo’d skills)
• 3-player passing, trapping, throw-ins, keeping (2 balls per 3 kids)
• Go to the ball or 1 v 1 drill (with 4 kids involved)
• Defense – shadowing attackers; role of 1st and 2nd defender
• 3 v 1 with keeper (coaching triangles)
• Offense - defense activity (“half-court” soccer) such as 4 v 2, or 5 v 2 – teaching back passes also
• Possession game
• The offside rule (Law 11)
• The corner kick
• Playing keeper – a few key points
